Raised by Salt was founded by Maddi, a freediver, surfer, scuba diver and underwater photographer. Like many ocean lovers, she was always packing up her gear for the next adventure and quickly realised there was a gap in the market. There just weren't any lightweight freedive fin bags designed for carry-on travel.

So, she made one.

What began as a sewing hobby soon turned into something much bigger and Maddi and her little van couldn't keep up with the growing demand. That's when Raised by Salt partnered with a trusted manufacturer, allowing the brand to continue growing while staying true to where it all began.

Today, Raised by Salt is proudly a female-owned small business built by someone who genuinely lives the lifestyle. Every product is inspired by real adventures, countless hours in the water, and a desire to create practical gear that makes travelling with your ocean essentials a little easier.

Our love for the ocean is at the heart of everything we do. It's where we find freedom, connection and adventure, and it's the reason Raised by Salt exists. We hope our products become part of your journey, wherever the tide takes you.
